| The Vulcan Building, Portsmouth: |
| Priory Cast Stone was asked to supply the
decorative natural Portland stone for an extension to be added on
this existing building. The north elevation was built as part of the
original building, but demolished sometime later. |

The intricate pattern of the string course
that encircles the 200 year old building, needed to be matched in
both colour and detail. Initial sketches of the various components
were made by our in-house technicians before being interpreted on
to AutoCAD drawings for client approval. |
| Then, using modern stone cutting technology
combined with the trained eye of a skilled stonemason, the stone was
cut and carved and then fixed into place. In time, the stone and brickwork
will naturally weather, to leave a building that looks as though it
had never undergone renovation. |
